Recipe:
1 Cup Farm Fresh Pecan Halves (I prefer the smaller size of Native halves, but you can use any size half or piece)
¼ Cup Brown Sugar, packed
¼ Cup Water
1 Tablespoon Butter
⅛ Teaspoon Salt
For Extra Flavor:
⅛ Teaspoon desired spice (I prefer cinnamon, but you could use any combo of sweet or savory spices)
Splash of vanilla
Directions:
Prep a dinner plate by placing a piece of parchment paper on it. Set aside.
Place farm fresh pecans, brown sugar, water, butter and salt in a medium non-stick skillet.
Cook on the stove over high heat for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
For two additional minutes, reduce to medium-high heat and continue cooking, stirring constantly.
Once the pecans are glossy, darker and begin clumping, move immediately to the prepared parchment paper. Spread the nuts in a single layer and separate them as much as possible. Let cool.
Enjoy right away or store nuts in an airtight container for up to a week.
