The One with the Dagwell Dixie
When you think of pecans, what comes to mind? Maybe a mouthwatering pecan pie, or crispy granola, or a tantalizing chocolate pecan dessert. How about a uniquely memorable signature cocktail?
Our friends at The Jones Assembly have completely taken the use of pecans to a whole new level. They are using Miller pecans to do it and we couldn't be more excited about it.
Located in the heart of Bricktown, Oklahoma City, this dining experience calls home a classic red-brick factory building. Recently renovated, the dining hall combines olde-fashioned industrial with fresh modern flair as folks enjoy uniquely-plated fresh and local fare.
Boasting an exclusive menu of hand-crafted cocktails and spirits, Miller pecans are the definite celebrity spotlighted in The Jones Assembly's signature cocktail, the Dagwell Dixie.
It all starts with a date between Miller pecans and George Dickel rye whiskey. The pecans steep in the whiskey until the whiskey assumes the distinct flavor of Miller pecans, about 48 hours. Upon being drained, the pecans are then roasted to embolden their flavor, candied and used in The Jones Assembly's unique dessert offerings.
"It's the fact that Miller pecans are locally-grown and that we are able to fully utilize the pecan, " says Scott Marsh, Director of Operations for The Jones Assembly when speaking to his favorite thing about Miller pecans, "Having grown up on a farm and on pecans, I appreciate the memorable flavor of Oklahoma pecans and love that we get to support a local family farm with our business."
Be sure to swing by The Jones Assembly next time you are in Bricktown and taste for yourself the delicious Dagwell Dixie and one of their candied whiskey pecan desserts. Be sure to let them know who sent ya!
